We would love you to come and enjoy our comfortable traditional Charentaise house and experience the French way of life in the small rural village of Gourvillette.
Our house sleeps up to 8 (20% reduction for 2 people) and is suitable for people with restricted mobility.
Our four bed roomed house has recently been renovated to a high standard. It retains all its French charm as we have kept as many of the original features as possible - stone fire places, beamed ceilings, wooden spiral staircase and quarry tiled floors.
Indoor amusements include games room with a full size pool table and dart board.
Our sunny courtyard garden is perfect for sitting and sunbathing and for outdoor dining.
The village itself is set among tranquil vineyards and fields of sunflowers and the quiet country lanes are ideal for walking and cycling (bikes available at the house).
Within easy reach is the Atlantic coast and La Rochelle, while the historic towns of Cognac, Angouleme, Royan and Saintes are all close by.
Local amenities of supermarket, patisserie, post office, chemist, doctor are all within a five minute drive at Matha and Beauvais sur Matha.
There are a number of excellent local restaurants within a 10 mile radius offering particularly fantastic value at lunch time.
Great location for visiting the world famous Cognac Blues festival held every July.
